Protecting Older Members from Scams, Fraud, and Financial Mistakes
Speaker:  Todd Wascom, Vice President, Sales, Carefull

Older adults lose over $37 billion annually to fraud and financial errors, while 45 million Americans are involved in managing an aging loved one’s finances. Carefull is the only financial safety platform built specifically to protect credit unions and their older members from the rising threats of scams, fraud, and money mistakes—including romance scams, “pig butchering” schemes, and other forms of financial exploitation.

Carefull uses AI-powered monitoring, real-time alerts, and proactive fraud prevention to catch subtle signs of risk before they escalate. Through family engagement and advanced protections, credit unions can safeguard their most vulnerable and valuable members, reduce financial losses, increase deposits, and build long-term, multi-generational relationships.

The Investment Journey of a Gen-Z and Millennial
Speaker:  Mart Vos, CEO, Eko

Today, 53% of Americans prefer to invest with their trusted financial institution. Yet, if credit unions don’t offer accessible investment options, members will look elsewhere. Platforms like Robinhood, Betterment, and Acorns aren’t just competing for deposits—they’re competing for the entire member relationship. Once members start investing with third-party platforms, they are quickly targeted with offers for high-yield savings accounts, credit cards, and more, increasing the risk of attrition.

We will discuss key questions:  Should digital investing be part of every credit union’s offering?  How do members want to invest, and what products are they looking for?  How can credit unions attract and retain first-time investors?  What’s the impact of digital investing on Member conversion, engagement & retention, Deposits, and Revenue

Eko enables credit unions to offer digital investing directly on their existing banking platforms through a fully integrated, white-label solution making investing accessible to all members—not just the top 1%.

By the end, attendees will see how Goalsetter empowers credit unions to connect digital innovation with community purpose, positioning them as leaders in advancing financial health and generational wealth for every member they serve.

Transforming Wealth Management for Members and Future Members
Speaker:  Will Dolan, President, TAPP Engine

The members you have today are not the members you will have tomorrow. If you’re not digital, if you’re not thinking AI, if you’re not thinking mobile for your wealth management strategy—you need to rethink your strategy. Millions of Americans want to invest but feel shut out. What are you doing to meet them where they are? Traditional wealth management does not meet the needs of the growing population of digital-first adopters who are going to be managing the great transfer of wealth of an estimated $120+ trillion dollars. Those are funds that could flow out of your financial institution.

People want to guide their own wealth journey with customized tools, a safe space to practice, learn, and grow their own personal investment portfolios. At TAPP Engine, we are focused on helping bridge the gap between traditional wealth management, curated learning using generative adaptation, practice trading to learn without fear or risk, and digital advice that meets people where they are in life through fractional share investing on your credit union’s mobile and online banking platforms. Our goal is to help turn credit unions into modern investing hubs that are top of mind for their members and future members.

Helping Members Thrive with Safer, Smarter Family Banking
Speaker:  Lindsey Ramaekers, Partnerships, True Link Financial

True Link offers a family banking solution designed to help credit union members safely manage finances across life stages. Whether your member is supporting a teen opening their first account, managing finances for a child with a disability, or assisting an aging parent, True Link meets them where they are. Our core offering is a prepaid card with configurable controls, alerts, and proactive fraud prevention. For older adults, families often start with light-touch features like custom alerts or spending visibility, then add guardrails to block problem transactions or restrict certain merchant categories, specific merchants, or set more specific spending limits. Our onboarding flow recommends spending settings based on the cardholder’s needs, which caregivers and parents can customize.

Our proprietary ScamWatch technology further protects members by automatically blocking over 1,000 high-risk merchants associated with scams, high dispute rates, or targeting of vulnerable populations. True Link empowers credit unions to protect members’ assets, prevent fraud losses, and provide family-focused banking tools that grow with your members’ needs.
